Lothian and Borders Police Choir
Lothian and Borders Police Choir was founded in October 2008. Chief Inspector Andrew Russel gathered interested staff and promised them they would sing in 4-part harmony within twenty minutes. They did, and two months later put on their first performance.
In a unique aspect to police life, a cross section of the Force and the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) including operational officers, detectives, forensic experts, biologists, telephonists, administrators from different jobs and backgrounds and several from outside the Force, teenage to retired, come together and rehearse on a Sunday evening at Force Headquarters. The choir consists entirely of unpaid volunteers.
